chaîne php pour tableau (clé et val doit être la même chaîne)

Question

En utilisant exploserai j'ai converti la chaîne en tableau,

Mais le tableau ressemble Array ([0] => root)

mais je veux que je fais mon somthing de tableau comme array ([root] => racine)

Comment faire de cette manière ..
